The first working meeting of the Academic Board of the ESS - BH network

Vice-rector for Research of the University of Tuzla Dr. Nermin Sarajlić, Full Professor and Dr. Jasmina Okičić, Associate Professor attended the first working meeting of the Academic Board of the ESS - BH network on 20 October 2020. The aim of the meeting was to agree on further activities related to the work of  the ESS-BH network, and it was organized as part of the celebration of  World Statistics Day.

Participants were introduced to the plan of activities for the implementation of the 10th round of European Social Survey (ESS), as  well as the procedures and benefits of its implementation in BH. In the  second part of the meeting, Dr. Goran Bašić, Director of the Institute  for Social Research in Belgrade, shared his experiences in conducting ESS in Serbia, and its impact on the development of research infrastructure and its importance for Serbian society.

 

 

 

 

At the meeting, activities were agreed to support the member universities of the network in the form of organizing a series of trainings, webinars, workshops, and the possibility of preparing joint academic articles that will be sent for publication in international journals. It was also concluded that the ESS-BH network can provide support and services to other institutions and members of the research community in  order to further strengthen the capacity and infrastructure for  conducting complex social research in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Members of  the Academic Board of the ESS-BH network stressed the need to continue  to promote ESS research in academia and society, as well as to use its  results to make evidence-based policies and decisions.
